The wildlife at Horsey includes rare resident birds such as marsh harriers, cranes, reedlings and bitterns as well as more common residents like swans, ducks, geese and the harnser (harnser is a local name for the great grey heron).
On fine days in June the British swallowtail butterfly can be seen in one of its last remaining habitats. On cooler days the birdlife is often more active. On warmer days the boat is frequently escorted by huge hawking dragonflies.
